HERE IS HOW IT WORKS:
WebCT (www.webct.com ) is the host software platform that runs
Elearn's online classes. Students participate in their class through virtual
classroom on a weekly basis over the 15 week length of the class. Each class
offered is specifically designed by WebCT for CFT classes and instructors.
To take an online class, students will need a computer, Internet access &
web browser, and a personal e-mail address appropriate to a business setting.
A printer is not required for any of the Elearn classes, but may be helpful.
Elearn students will be required to visit the virtual classroom on a weekly
basis to read online lectures, participate in online activities, and submit
weekly assignments. There is no set "live" time when students will
need to log onto the site - the virtual class may be visited at any time - as
long as students check in at least once a week.
Once as student is registered, a confirmation letter will be sent to the student
verifying receipt of their enrollment. One week prior to the start date of the
class, CFT National will forward a welcome e-mail confirming that the class
will run and also provide contact information for the online instructor. On
the start date of the class, CFT National will email students Access Directions
to the virtual classroom website at WebCT and instructions for logging in. You
will also receive a welcome letter from your instructor.
Textbooks will be shipped from our local CFT office in Syracuse and will arrive
the week before the class is scheduled to begin. Textbooks are not required
for the first week of class. The first week is designed to establish communication
between student and instructor, so there will be no assignment that involves
the use of the text or the classroom website. Students must be sure to respond
to the instructors e-mail within the first week.
